Soila Kenya

Soila Kenya is a freelance data journalist and fact-checker from Nairobi, Kenya. She started her journalism career at Daystar University by being an editor for school publications such as the Involvement Newspaper and Daystar Oracle.

Soila previously worked at Code for Africa, Africa’s largest data journalism and civic tech lab, where she covered stories on the environment and climate change, women and gender, and health/science. She won the 2018 African Climate Change and Environmental Reporting award in the print category and was nominated for the Best fact-check in 2018 by AfricaCheck.
